Sneak Peek: Yosemite 1938 On the Trail with Ansel Adams and Georgia O'Keeffe

A sneak peek of the Yosemite 1938 On the Trail with Ansel Adams and Georgia O'Keeffe exhibit will include a Yosemite expert speaking about the allure of Yosemite and the locations of some of the photographs.

After a wildly successful Mix’d Media Event on May 12, our next Mix’d Media party will be Thursday,  June 9. The night celebrates Yosemite 1938: On the Trail with Ansel Adams and Georgia O’Keeffe. Lindsey Ross, photographer and owner of La Chambre Photographique, will create wet plate collodion photographs, reminiscent of Adams’ work. Book a photography session in advance here, http://bit.ly/22febjE.  In addition to portrait sessions, hack tours will be avaialble of the Yosemite 1938 exhibit. Music by DJ Cut la What, and food and beverage available for purchase from the Rising Sage Cafe. Ride your bike to the event and enjoy a bike valet from Friends of Pathways.

Yosemite 1938: On the Trail with Ansel Adams and Georgia O'Keeffe

In September 1938 photographer Ansel Adams made one of his many trips to Yosemite, but this excursion included his close friends Georgia O’Keeffe, David McAlpin, and Mr. and Mrs. Godfrey Rockefeller. Adams documented the trip with photographs of the landscape and of the group camping. He made five albums of photographs, by hand, as gifts to his companions. There are a total of 48 photographs in the album, and many of the pages have notations written by Adams. More about this exhibiit
