Traveling Trunk Program

The traveling trunk program is one of the more popular elements in the education department. Teachers reserve these self-contained units well in advance. Schools receive a curriculum notebook one week prior to receipt, and the teacher uses the trunk for two weeks.

Where the Buffalo Roam Where the Buffalo Roam
Discovering the Fascinating World of the North American Bison, the contents of this trunk program will help you and your students explore and learn about the natural history, culture, art and history surrounding the American bison. The purpose of this trunk is to instill curiosity, awareness and understanding of the history of the bison in this country over the last 150 years. By exploring the contents of the trunk, and its accompanying curriculum, you can help your students better understand and come to know these magnificent animals.

(For grades 2-6; required time period, 2 weeks)


Seize the Prey Seize the Prey
Discovering the Fascinating World of Birds of Prey, the contents of this trunk program will help you and your students explore and learn about the fascinating lives of many of North America's birds of prey, also known as raptors, as well as some of the problems facing these amazing birds. The purpose of this trunk, and its accompanying curriculum, is to help instill curiosity, awareness and a better understanding of some of North America's birds of prey.

(For grades 2-6; required time period, 2 weeks)


Mammals of the Greater Yellowstone Mammals of the Greater Yellowstone
The contents of this trunk program will help you and your students explore and learn about the fascinating lives of many of the mammals of the Yellowstone ecosystem. The purpose of this trunk, and its a accompanying curriculum, is to help instill curiosity, awareness and a better understanding of some of the amazing and magnificent mammals that inhabit the Yellowstone ecosystem and the 14 million acres of public land around America's first National Park.

(For grades 2-6; required time period, 2 weeks)


Mormon Pioneer Heritage Mormon Pioneer Heritage
The contents of this trunk program will help you and your students explore and learn about the history and culture of the Mormon pioneers through their regional folk arts and folklore. The purpose of this trunk is to instill curiosity, awareness and understanding of the Mormon pioneers. By exploring the contents of the trunk, and its accompanying curriculum, you can help your students better understand and come to know these pioneer people.

(For grades 1-12; required time period, 2 weeks)


The Tooling Cowboy The Tooling Cowboy
The contents of this trunk program will help you and your students explore and learn about the history and culture of cowboys through their regional folk arts and folklore. The purpose of this trunk is to instill curiosity, awareness and understanding of cowboys. By exploring the contents of the trunk, and its accompanying curriculum, you can help your students better understand and come to know these people.

(For grades 1-12; required time period, 2 week)


Timeless Art Timeless Art
The contents of this trunk program will help you and your students explore and learn about the history and culture of the Shoshone people through their regional folk arts and folklore. The purpose of this trunk is to instill curiosity, awareness and understanding of the Shoshone tribe. By exploring the contents of the trunk, and its accompanying curriculum, you can help your students better understand and come to know this Native American tribe.

(For grades 1-12; required time period, 2 weeks)
