Celebration of Young Artists May 3, 2012  |  By Amy Goicoechea

Today at 5pm we are thrilled to celebrate our local budding artists from Teton County’s School District K-12 art classes.  These artworks have resulted in a wonderful exhibition titled “Drawing on Inspiration.” Also featured and celebrated are students whose art is in the Federal Junior Duck Stamp and the Young Illustrators exhibitions.

School Arts Spectacular: Drawing on Inspiration exhibit is on display in our Wapiti gallery and features over 150 artists.  Local teachers chose the theme last fall and have been working with their students throughout the year to create paintings, prints, drawing and sculptures.

As the Wyoming host site for the Federal Junior Duck Stamp Program and Contest, we received 691 entries.  In honor of the 20th anniversary of the program, we will exhibit all 100 winners in our King Gallery until August 5.  Finally, our Young Illustrators exhibit complements the Wyoming Young Authors competition.  Visitors can read the books and enjoy these illustrations in our Discovery Gallery through the summer.
