Mix’d Media: Silverspot November 9, 2012 | By Amy Goicoechea
Mix’d Media was a blast! Last night we celebrated our latest community exhibit, Silverspot: A Graphic Novel! We toasted Assistant Curator of Art, Bronwyn Minton, on her creative genius in turning a 19th century short story into a graphic novel. She invited 65 local and regional artists to illustrate a portion of a story detailing the life of a crow based on an Ernest Thompson Seton short story.
DJ Vert-One mixed the evening’s music, party goers made their own graphic novels, indulged in comfort food at a macaroni & cheese action station , mixed their own Bloody Marys, and satisfied their sweet tooth with whoopie pies provided by Dolcé. In honor of Seton having been a co-founder of the Boy Scouts, some visitors even earned a “crow merit badge” from corvid expert, Bryan Bedrosian.
Adam Meyer won the JHMR ski pass!
We are excited about December’s Mix’d Media event as well where we will offer Whiskey, Western Swing, and a Wild West Photo Booth at which we will fete National Geographic: Greatest Photographs of the American West.
Mix’d Media programs are generously sponsored by Home Health for Pets, First Interstate Bank, The Charles Engelhard Foundation, and Spring Creek Ranch.
