June First Sundays May 30, 2013 | By Christine Colbert
Calling all bird lovers! If you have not yet been to the Museum to see our Amazing Animals exhibit featuring works by John James Audubon, join us this weekend for our monthly First Sunday celebration. Audubon is most well known for his artwork cataloging the birds of North America, some of which are now extinct.
This Sunday we will be featuring a continuous screening of the film “John James Audubon: Drawn from Nature.” It is an art biography, following the life and history of Audubon as he explored the wild American frontier while captivating European aristocrats with his artwork and charisma. Along with the movie, this will be a great opportunity to see some of Audubon’s works in person – a rare and impressive experience.
Join us in our celebration of the community and the arts this Sunday for a viewing of this wonderful film, or a stroll around our current exhibits. Local admission is free and families are welcome!
