Student Photography Scholarship! September 19, 2013  |  By Amy Goicoechea

Two lucky local high school students will receive the following letter early next week.

“Congratulations! You have been awarded a scholarship to attend the Photography at the Summit workshop offered at the National Museum of Wildlife Art. The workshop begins Sunday, September 29, with a digital photography session from 12-5 pm in the museum classroom.  There is also a reception here that evening from 5-7 pm. The workshop then runs through Friday, October 4, from 9-5 each day. You will spend each morning with the workshop instructors. Then you will spend the afternoons in the field or attend optional classes.”

Students are encouraged to bring whatever equipment they are familiar with. Photography at the Summit will also have equipment on loan during the week.

We are grateful to Rich Clarkson and Photography at the Summit for their generosity. The educational value of this scholarship for a person considering a career in photography is priceless.

To apply for one of the scholarships, please describe how this program would contribute to your goals and explain your background in photography. Send your responses and two letters of recommendation to agoicoechea@wildlifeart.org. Deadline is Monday, September 23.

I look forward to receiving more applications this week!
