Final Wild Wednesdays of the Winter Season March 17, 2014 | By Becky Kimmel
George Catlin , A Stag and a Doe, c. 1850. JKM Collection®, National Museum of Wildlife Art.
George Catlin captured colorful images of many species, including this delightful “A Stag and A Doe” currently on display as a part of the permanent collection. You will have an opportunity this week, during the final Wild Wednesday dinner of the season, to learn from a naturalist and also from a Museum docent about the animals in art.
For example, did you know that this time of year is particularly challenging for the moose population? Do you know why, and what might we do to help support their needs with habitat and behavior changes by the people who are coexisting on the planet?
Join us for dinner and a discussion with Naturalist Mike Nordell and Museum Docent Bobbi Thomasma this Wednesday at 6:00 PM. A second tour and discussion will be held at 8:00 PM. Reservations are encouraged for dinner from 5:30 PM until 8:00 PM by calling 732-5434.
