We chose Heerkens’ suggestion of “Nefer & Tari” because her clever Egyptian Pharaoh reference speaks to artist William Zorach’s work. Zorach once said “I owe most to the great periods of primitive carving of the past – not to the moderns or to the classical Greeks, but to the Africans, the Persians, the Mesopotamians, the archaic Greeks and of course to the Egyptians.” (Jonathan Baur, William Zorach, Whitney Museum of American Art, 1959)
Runner up suggestions were Corina St Martin’s “Zorach’s Gaurdians” and Cat Taylor’s “Feline Reflections.”
