Artist Statement

Scouring thousands of books, I search for images of old paintings meaningful to today. I repaint fragments, collaging bits together to create a new image, one that affirms art history’s relevance to contemporary culture.

While I explore the meaning these images originally had, I’m also interested in how they can be reinterpreted today. My work is a mash-up of these images; art history shaken and pieced back together to address how our animal natures have or haven’t changed, and what that signifies for our collective future.

What People Are Saying

If you’re anywhere near Jackson, I’d recommend that you drive 5 min out of town and visit this beautiful place. The sculptures are extraordinary and the building itself is just a unique place that looks like it grew out of the hillside.
