SUMMARY:First Sundays – Locals’ Free Day at the Museum
DESCRIPTION:On the first Sunday of every month year-round\, Museum admission is FREE for area locals. January First Sunday special programming will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. This water conservation themed event will include an information booth and touch station with animal pelts from the Snake River Fund\, a musical performance from Lupine Way\, and a craft for all ages. \nOn the first Sunday of winter months\, the National Museum of Wildlife Art organizes a family-friendly day with special programs and events connected to the exhibitions on view. \nFirst Sundays is Generously Sponsored by Bank of Jackson Hole & Lawrence Finch.

SUMMARY:Make it Wild: Pencil Portraits: Drawing Your Beloved Pets with Dahee Kim
DESCRIPTION:In this class\, instructor Dahee Kim will guide you through the fundamentals of drawing with pencils. We’ll focus on using just pencils and erasers—sometimes even without an eraser—to explore the versatility of this medium. \nThroughout the course\, you will learn essential techniques for creating value\, texture\, and contrast. We’ll discuss how to observe your subjects closely and translate those observations onto paper\, bringing your drawings to life. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to refine your skills\, this class will provide you with the tools and confidence to express your creativity through pencil drawing. Join us for an engaging and inspiring artistic journey! \n\nThis class will take place from 6 – 8 p.m. on January 7\, in the Museum Classroom. \nLearn More \n\nMake it Wild courses are open to adults and young adults with beginner to intermediate abilities. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions during this interactive program. \n\n$50 per Live In-Person Class\nLimited to the first 20 participants\n\nYour registration fee supports the Museum’s Art Leadership Scholarship in Honor of the Memory of Dick Jennings. Dick Jennings was a Museum board member whose memory inspires us to pursue our passions. The $4\,000 scholarship is awarded annually to a local High School Senior who plans to study art at the college level. Thank you for your support! \nAbout the artist:  \nDahee Kim is an aspiring artist with a passion for pottery\, painting\, and drawing and based in Jackson Hole\, WY\, originally from South Korea. Drawing inspiration from nature and emotions\, Dahee seeks to express the special and unique beauty of nature that surrounds us. Dahee believes in the power of art to connect people and evoke emotions. Currently\, Dahee is excited to explore new techniques and push creative boundaries in this class.
