This book is comprised of phenomenal, close-up images of migratory animals of the West, Specifically the Greater Yellowstone region. Photographer Joe Riis captures the images using remote cameras. The book accompanies the exhibition Invisible Boundaries: Exploring Yellowstone’s Great Animal Migrations, created by the Buffalo Bill Center of the West, Cody, Wyoming, on display at the National Museum of Wildlife Art June 1, 2018 – August 19, 2018.

“Illustrating the delicacy, vigor, and grace of the animals that call the Yellowstone region home, as well as the landscape through which they travel, Riis’s images illuminate extraordinary migrations – and the importance of preserving these corridors that form the beating heart of Yellowstone.” excerpt from the book.

What People Are Saying

We came here in the recommendation of a worker at Yellowstone. The museum itself is beautiful, nestled into the hills outside Jackson. The art is stunning. Some feel almost like photographs. Highly recommended.
