About Francois Koch

Following a successful career as an illustrator in advertising and publishing at the age of 26, South African born, Francois Koch decided to pursue his passion to become a fine art painter, painting the African landscape and wildlife which he loved. His paintings are included in South African embassies around the world as well as in the presidential residence and many major corporations and banks in South Africa. In 1996, when his paintings started to sell internationally, he decided to explore the art scene in America painting the western landscape. After a sold-out one-man show at Settlers West Gallery, Tucson in 2000, Koch emigrated to America, becoming an American citizen in 2008.

What People Are Saying

Although I am not a big fan of Western art, I thoroughly enjoyed the museum. The sculpture was stunning, and the views from the museum were beautiful. I learned so much about American artists, and the history of the difficulty in having wildlife paintings accepted by artists' organizations was fascinating. A lovely visit.
