RUSSELL SOCIETY – $1,000
For Those Who Keep the Spirit of the West Alive.
Inspired by Charles M. Russell’s grit, imagination, and love of the frontier.
Charles M. Russell (United States, 1864 – 1926) is one of the few artists who experienced American West as well as artistically documented the drama and innocence of the era. As the West was settled, his nostalgia for days gone by was expressed in his depictions of contemporary life on the range. As a self-taught artist, Russell began drawing and sculpting at an early age.
A few weeks before his sixteenth birthday, he left St. Louis and moved to Montana where he worked as a cowboy for eleven years. During those years, he sketched and painted the cowboy life and the wilderness he loved.
Inspired by the legacy of Russell, your membership supports the volunteer program at the Museum, facilities, and security. Includes unlimited visitation, 10% discount at the Museum Shop, 20% discount at Palate Restaurant, subscription to all museum publications, 8 guest passes, one free guest with each visit, an annual VIP tour, and exclusive Society events throughout the year.

RUNGIUS SOCIETY – $3,500
For Those Who Forge a Lasting Legacy in the Wild.
Inspired by Carl Rungius’s devotion to wilderness, wildlife, and artistic excellence.
Carl Rungius (American, born Germany, 1869 – 1959) is widely regarded as North America’s premier wildlife painter. Working primarily in the Rocky Mountains in Wyoming and Alberta, Canada he spent every summer painting and sketching in the high country and every winter in New York City, creating finished canvases that celebrate the outdoors, nature, and wildlife. The National Museum of Wildlife Art holds the largest collection of Rungius’s work in the United States.
Inspired by the legacy of Rungius, your membership supports the permanent collection, exhibition research and development, and accessibility. Includes unlimited visitation, 10% discount at the Museum Shop, 20% discount at Palate Restaurant, subscription to all museum publications, 10 guest passes, one free guest with each visit, an annual VIP tour, and exclusive Society events throughout the year.

BONHEUR SOCIETY – $5,000
For Those Who Dare to See Differently.
Inspired by Rosa Bonheur’s devotion to wilderness, wildlife, and artistic excellence.
Rosa Bonheur (France, 1822 – 1899) was the most famous woman artist of the nineteenth century and one of the most esteemed animal painters in history. Direct observation from nature was favored by artists in the 1830s and 1840s; it remained a principle to which Bonheur adhered throughout her life. Her rejection of Victorian societal norms, specifically her tendency to dress in what was deemed “masculine” attire, brought her further attention as a point of interest among contemporary audiences. Although Bonheur gained financial and critical success in her time, she lost popularity after her death and, like most women artists, her work has been under recognized in history.
Inspired by the legacy of Bonheur, your membership supports education programs, free teacher memberships, free tours for school groups, and gallery interpretation. Includes unlimited visitation, 10% discount at the Museum Shop, 20% discount at Palate Restaurant, subscription to all museum publications, 12 guest passes, one free guest with each visit, and private Curator-led tour of your exhibit choice, ability to vote on one piece of artwork per year and invitations to exclusive Society events throughout the year.

Questions about Membership
- I lost my membership card. Can I still get into the Museum at no cost?
-
The front desk has a membership directory that is updated weekly. They will be able to confirm your membership status. To receive a replacement card, contact the membership office at 307-732-5424 or membership@wildlifeart.org.
- I renewed my membership two months late and the expiration date on my new membership card is for ten months later. Shouldn’t it be 12 months later?
-
Your membership is not automatically dropped on the expiration date. You are allowed two months as a “lapsed” member after your membership expiration date. During the time your membership is lapsed, you can still use all of your membership benefits.
- Why isn’t my membership fully tax-deductible?
-
Certain membership benefits, such as guest passes and your subscription to Call of the Wild magazine, are not tax-deductible according to IRS Code. If you would like to waive certain benefits to increase your tax deduction, simply make a note on your membership application or renewal form or contact the membership office at 307-732-5414 or membership@wildlifeart.org.
