About Lennart Sand

Born 1946, Östersund, Sweden. Full time wildlife artist since 1978. Author of ten books, text and illustrations, published in Sweden ( 1987-2016).
Several bronze sculptures, editions and public installations of birds and mammals in Sweden (1986-2016). One man exhibits and participation in group exhibitions in Europe, England and USA. Shown in Birds in Art, USA, 14 times since 1986.
Represented in the permanent collections at National Museum of Wildlife Art, Jackson Hole, USA; Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum, Wausau, USA; Museum Nature in Art, Gloucester, England; Nature History Museum, Stockholm, Sweden.

My foremost purpose is not to make "art" - it is more to find understanding and solidarity in the truth of nature. To share my experiences and to be honest - never beautify or falsify.

Although I am not a big fan of Western art, I thoroughly enjoyed the museum. The sculpture was stunning, and the views from the museum were beautiful. I learned so much about American artists, and the history of the difficulty in having wildlife paintings accepted by artists' organizations was fascinating. A lovely visit.
