Northern Winters Long Dawn
The Morning After
Early Winter Exodus
This piece resulted from my first winter experience in Denali
National Park this year. A rare ski plane landing on Wonder Lake, sled dog
pickup and 5 days in a Park cabin, touring and painting with long time
friend Veryl Goodnight. We were fortunate to have relatively clear skies,
moderate temperatures and attentive and fun guides and dogs. This view is
of Mt Brooks a little bit east of Denali, during the slow progression of the
warm light of dawn encroaching on the deep blue of the cold land.
