Greater Yellowstone Botanical Tour Kick Off

July 9, 2022 @ 12:00 pm - 2:30 pm
  • This event has passed.

Join the National Museum of Wildlife Art, Teton Botanical Garden, and The Nature Conservancy for a celebration of the new Greater Yellowstone Botanical Tour (GYBT)! This event will begin immediately following the watercolor workshop with Shana Stegman. While no landscaping project is ever finished—plants and grasses require upkeep—after two years and thousands of volunteer hours, the initial work of establishing the Greater Yellowstone Botanical Tour at the NMWA Sculpture Trail has been completed! The ADA-accessible tour, which has an audio component available in English and Spanish, showcases the importance and beauty of native plants. The botanical garden displays three distinct types of habitat present in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem: wildflower meadow, sagebrush steppe, and aspen grove.

Meet under the tent near the Museum entrance and enjoy light refreshments.

Three guided tours by botanical staff:

  • 12:00 – 12:30 pm guided tour of GYBT
  • 1:00-1:30 guided tour of GYBT
  • 2:00-2:30 guided tour of GYBT

This project is possible thanks to support and work from Teton Botanical Garden, The Nature Conservancy of Wyoming, and the Jackson Hole Land Trust, and because of generous grants from Teton Conservation District, Community Foundation of Jackson Hole, and Smart Family Fund.
