Discover the beauty of Mata Ortiz pottery! Second generation ceramic artist Oralia Lopez is renowned for her finely executed geometric pottery designs, often inspired by nature. Lopez will be hosting a pottery pop-up in Sullivan Hall, outside of the Museum Shop July 17 – 19.

Originally from the village of Mata Ortiz in northern Chihuahua, Mexico, Lopez is part of a group of artisans carrying forward a centuries-old ceramic tradition rooted in the prehistoric Mogollon culture and the archaeological site of Casas Grandes. Join us for artist demonstrations throughout the pottery pop-up event included in your admission ticket or Museum membership.
