Youth Art Tutorial: Drawing an Arctic Grayling with Jane Lavino

February 5, 2026 @ 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Calling all young artists! Join us for a special live art tutorial on Thursday, February 5, at 3:30 PM (Mountain Time), presented in collaboration with the Wyoming Game and Fish Department. The Museum’s Sugden Chief of Education, Jane Lavino, will be leading this guided lesson and walk participants step by step through drawing an arctic grayling, a striking fish native to Wyoming waters.

The arctic grayling is the featured species for this year’s Collectible Conservation Stamp Art Contest. Wyoming students who enter the contest are eligible to win cash prizes of up to $150. The live tutorial will be streamed on the Wyoming Game and Fish Department’s YouTube channel. Participants are encouraged to follow along from home.

Suggested art supplies:

  • Graphite pencil and eraser

  • Several sheets of 8.5 x 11-inch paper

  • Colored pencils

  • Micron pen or fine-line black pen

This free program is a great opportunity for young artists to build drawing skills while learning about wildlife conservation through art.
