This year’s sale includes 141 small format pieces and 32 large format works. Artists were selected for the large format section by a weighted draw, and their pieces respond to the theme ‘Connection.’ “The Museum’s vision is to inspire connections with wildlife and nature,” says Steve Seamons, Executive Director. “We hope that all attendees and visitors will be inspired to form new connections with nature, with one another, and with our community as a result of these incredible works.” All artworks will be available at a fixed price via an intent-to-purchase sale by draw. Participants can enter their names in person, online, or via proxy; winners will be announced at 7 p.m. on September 12.
The 37th Annual Show + Sale includes a wide variety of styles, subjects, and media from the world’s top contemporary wildlife artists. With many returning favorites and a handful of first-time participants, this year’s show truly has something for everyone. “From dancing bears cut into paper or swimming in pools to little lizards marching and crows in cowboy boots, this show aims to inspire connection, laughter, wonder, serenity, and so much more,” says Madison Webb Stanko, Chief Marketing Officer.
The culmination of dedication and hard work from artists, volunteers, Museum staff, patrons, trustees, and generous sponsors, Western Visions is a one-of-a-kind celebration of contemporary wildlife art. The exhibition will be on view from September 7 through September 29.
