Western Visions Wrap Up & Awards

October 20, 2020

The National Museum of Wildlife Art finished the annual Western Visions Show & Sale, the Museum’s largest fundraiser of the year. The Show & Sale was a little different than in years’ past, with the need to adapt to a changing environment for the sake of visitor and staff health.

“The show finished with great success and we are grateful to the artists, buyers, and the Museum volunteers and fellow staff for their openness to change,” said Katy Ann Fox, Interim Director of Programs and Events. “The result of this change of event will hopefully lead to even more changes for Western Visions in the future. We look forward to evolving this event to best showcase beloved artists and actively engage our audiences.”

The 2020 Western Visions awards are:

  • Bob Kuhn Sketch Award: Linsday Scott, Leap of Faith
  • People’s Choice Award: Lennart Sand, Fighting Bison
  • Red Smith (Artists’ Choice) Award: T. Allen Lawson, Winter Solitude (Image shown)
  • Trustee Purchase Award: John Banovich, Among Giants

The Museum also filmed a panel discussion with The Jackson Hole 5: Important Artists of the West (Amy Lay, Amy Ringholz, Kathryn Mapes Turner, September Vhay and Kathy Wipfler) which is available to watch on YouTube any time.

The National Museum of Wildlife Art thanks you for your support and interest in Western Visions.
