Oil Painters of America is pleased to present OPA’s 2022 Virtual Museum Road Trip, an exciting series of virtual museum presentations for OPA members and guests. This series offers an amazing opportunity to have front row seats to many of the country’s finest museums and to hear directly from curators and directors about some of their most prized collections.

National Museum of Wildlife Art: Favorite Paintings from the Permanent Collection

Please join Sugden Chief Curator of Education Jane Lavino as she shares some of her favorite paintings from the National Museum of Wildlife Art’s collection created between 1816 to 2014.

Jane will discuss how the motivations for painting wild animals and wild places changed over time, as well as how painting styles, techniques, and attitudes about the wild have changed. We will also examine portrayals of peacocks, wolves, big cats, elk, bison, bears, and more.
