Cristina Mittermeier: A Greater Wisdom is a timely and inspiring exhibition that empowers audiences to reflect on the past, understand the present and collectively shape a more sustainable future. For thirty years, Cristina “Mitty” Mittermeier has traveled the globe as an artist, author, and activist, documenting the beauty of our planet, its wild inhabitants, and the many cultures and traditions of the people who call it home. Her photographs depict the changing landscapes and seascapes of Earth, and the communities that still live in harmony within these fragile ecosystems.

At the heart of Mittermeier’s work are the stories of people who maintain a connection with nature and understand the delicate balance of their environments. Her images bear witness to rituals and knowledge passed down through generations, and through her lens we are invited to reflect on A Greater Wisdom.

From this wisdom emerges the concept of Enoughness: a mindset that deepens our understanding of our place in the world, the limitations of nature’s capacity to support us, and how our choices impact the planet and climate. At its core, Enoughness is a state of contentment that arises from appreciating what we already have. It affirms our intrinsic worth and aligns our decisions with the natural cycles of the living world.

Mittermeier’s compositions reveal the threads connecting us to the broader web of life, inviting each of us to find our own state of Enough. Wisely utilizing our planet’s resources is essential for supporting our climate, the food we depend on, and even the very air we breathe.
