National Museum of Wildlife Art Announces Museum Shop Grand Reopening
April 26, 2022Jackson, WY: After being closed for over three months for renovations, the Museum Shop at the National Museum of Wildlife Art (NMWA) will reopen its doors on May 1, 2022, for a brand new shopping experience. The remodel includes all new lighting, paint, carpet, retail furniture, entryway, windows, products, and software.
In recent years the Museum has renovated the lobby, restrooms, auditorium, and Members’ Lounge–this is a continuation of that larger vision and the culmination of years of work. OPTÓ Systems designed the new layout and furniture fixtures, while construction was completed by Aufderheide Construction Management, an NMWA Rungius business member.
“This new space will allow Museum visitors to enjoy a positive and modern retail shopping experience,” says Debbie Vassar, Director of Retail Operations and Visitor Services at NMWA. “We’ve been waiting a long time to see this vision come to fruition, and the timing couldn’t be better with the Museum celebrating 35 years next month.”
Shoppers will see the new space beginning at the May First Sunday event, when the Museum will host the Grand Reopening. Locals will receive free admission to the Museum, and shoppers can enjoy giveaways and the first look at brand new products. The first 20 purchasers will receive a free gift bag, and one lucky shopper will win a one-year dual/family membership! There will also be 35th-anniversary tote bag giveaways.
The Museum Shop features products that reflect the Museum’s mission, first and foremost: to impart knowledge and inspire appreciation of humanity’s relationship with wildlife and nature through art and education. Featuring items from local and national artists, the majority of products in the shop are made in the USA. From apparel and home goods to items inspired by the Museum’s permanent collection, the shop has something for everyone and every occasion.
Summer hours will begin on May 1, with the Museum open daily from 10am-5pm. These hours include the Museum and Museum Shop. Palate Restaurant will also be open daily for lunch, from 11am-2:30pm.
