September 2, 2021Beyond Beauty, an episode in the online video series Bisoncast, was recently chosen as an official selection in the Venice Shorts Film Festival of California. Bisoncast is created and produced by the National Museum of Wildlife Art and directed and filmed by Mountain Mind Media. There have been five Bisoncast episodes released so far, with a sixth on the way. They’re available to watch at Wildlifeart.org/Bisoncast for free! The episodes provide free access to the Museum’s world-class art collection, set amongst the beauty of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. Bisoncast shares stories the Museum is uniquely positioned to tellーstories of the relationships between humanity, creative expression, and natureーto support new ways of seeing and understanding our world and ourselves.
“We feel so honored to be part of the Venice Shorts Film Festival!” says Jane Lavino, Sugden Chief Curator of Education. “Our team has worked so hard to put these episodes together to be more accessible and inclusive for visitors who may not be able to experience the Museum, or the area, in person.”
The Museum is actively accepting donations to be able to continue creating Bisoncast episodes. Bisoncast has been made possible by the Tony Greene Memorial Art Education Fund, Cynthia & Dick Quast (*in memory of Cynthia who passed away this summer), Smart Family Fund, Hearst Foundations, and is supported, in part, by the Wyoming Arts Council, Art Bridges, and the Wyoming Cultural Trust Fund, a program of the Department of State Parks and Cultural Resources.
